GRASS (3D)

I spent some time creating my own grass from the ground up - approx 20,000 blades from a base 5 clump. Stating with low poly clumps of grass and using a particle system/incorporating a child system to spread them across the landscape. A gradient node tree in blender created the subtle fluctuations in the colour which could be tunes to create more or less alive/dead grass in the scene.

Lighting and creating translucency was the biggest learning curve to create convincing looking grass.

In this project I focused on node management for future project continuity and generally creating clean node trees as good practice.
